♢ APPEARANCE: Born with stunted growth Anathema is shorter than the average male Viera. Her curvaceous frame is seen by her as a gift, allowing her a nurturing appearance. Anathema's beautifully pale skin reflects the heritage of a Veena melding into the snow-capped tops of the Skatay Range. Atop her head are an unnatural set of colors; Charcoal roots and gloom purple dyed locks which cup her features and obscure her gentle pink beryl gaze.
♢ PERSONALITY: Anathema is soft-spoken and compassionate; Her heart is always in the right place, loving and caring for others deeply and passionately. Carrying an overabundance of empathy she finds herself deeply impacted and compelled by the emotions and stories of others.As a result of her history Anathema is cautious of strangers, but being that she is desperate for acceptance and connection it is not challenging to overcome her boundaries with a simple level of kindness. Regardless of her experiences Anathema is naïve and trusting, her soft heart yearning to see the good in others. Relationships are transactional to her, even if gestures are without expectation of something in return they must be paid in back.As much as she attempts to retain a positive and warm outlook, Anathema is burdened by the memories of her past which is portrayed by the melancholy atmosphere clinging to her. Incredibly conflict adverse, Anathema will go above and beyond to avoid it.

BACKGROUND

Anathema's life has been cursed with what she believes is fractured luck, misfortune licking at her heels since growing from a kit. The Garlean Empire conflict and use of the Skatay Range to combat the invasion occurred early on in her life, the severity of the situation calling upon her to join the guerilla warfare. While the invasion was successfully thwarted, her young age and inexperience contributed towards multiple careless mistakes resulting in the devastating capture of her and many Lesrekta members.Cruel and unforgiving, the Garlean Empire enslaved Anathema, her oddity of stunted growth earning her the position of a treasured toy. Within her confinement she was isolated, tormented and punished sadistically for her captor's pleasure. After years of misery an opportunity of escape presented itself, yet even with newfound freedom she found herself still lonely and with nothing to her name.Unable to return to her tribe Anathema found her way to New Gridania, the lush environment of the Black Shroud delivering her comfort. Ghosts of the past plagued her dreams, survivors guilt weighing down on her shoulders, and she was unable to make peace with the loss of the life she deserved with her tribe.With hundreds of years ahead of her, Anathema took initiative and wrestled with her emotions to adjust her mindset in an effort to lessen her misery, dedicating herself to the cause of giving back and making up for her mistakes. Her life as a caregiver and mother to her tribe, the most important duty she wished to fulfill, was lost. However Anathema would not let this dream die. Led to New Gridania's orphanage she has accepted the role of caregiver as a means find redemption and the happiness she so desperately craved in becoming a mother.

Delectable and cozy flavors warm the soul, drawing thoughts from ones trials and tribulations to a simple moment of pure enjoyment. If there's one thing that perks up this gloomy soul, it's talking about food and cooking methods.♦ FLIGHT RISK:
Approach with caution. While Anathema does not garner any hostility, the combination of being smaller, vulnerable, and her history has amplified her fight or flight instinct if she senses one is undesirable company. While Anathema is combat-ready to a degree, flight is a preferable outcome to fight.♦ HEALER:
It was within her first year in New Gridania while Anathema attempted to find her footing that she approached the Conjurer's guild. Taking up the staff of a healer is one of the many roles Anathema has invested herself into as part of her effort to find atonement. Thriving in a position of responsibility for the wellbeing of others, without hesitation Anathema will step forth when aid is needed.♦ HUMANITARIAN:
One will often find Anathema volunteering in her off time, choosing to keep busy as a coping mechanism for trauma. Her earnest efforts to contribute towards society lifts her spirits and helping others brings her joy.
